A smile on your dashboard
Not just a plugin: a line by John Lennon waiting for you every time you open the admin. A small pause before you get back to work.
Already included in Cleitext: just turn it on.

What it does
Small, and on purpose
“Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.” John Lennon, “Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)”, 1980.
A line to start the day
A box on the dashboard with John Lennon’s words, the first thing you see when you log in.
A nod to Hello Dolly
WordPress comes with a song line on the dashboard, Hello Dolly. Cleitext keeps the tradition, with its own song.
Only you see it
It lives in the admin: your visitors and your public pages don’t change at all.
Asks for nothing
It doesn’t read or save any data and needs no special permission.
The smallest plugin
Curious about how a Cleitext plugin is made? This is the shortest example there is, easy to read from top to bottom.
On and off
Don’t want it? Deactivate it with one click, and turn it back on whenever you like.

On the dashboard
A small pause, every time
Open the admin and a line by John Lennon is waiting in its own box, next to your drafts and the latest activity.

For the curious
Where every plugin begins
Whoever wants to write a plugin for Cleitext can start here: one box on the dashboard, nothing else to understand first.
- Only a few lines of code
- Nothing on the public site
- No data and no permissions
- Free and open source, like all of Cleitext
Get started
Ready in a few minutes
Turn it on
It comes with Cleitext: in Plugins → Installed Plugins, activate Hi John.
Open the dashboard
Go to Dashboard: you’ll find the Hi John box with John Lennon’s line.
Take a look inside
If you’re curious, read its code on GitHub: it’s the simplest way to see how a plugin works.
Questions
Does it slow down my site?
No. It only shows up on your dashboard; the pages your visitors open are exactly the same.
Why is the line in English?
Because those are John Lennon’s own words, from the song he wrote for his son.
Can I remove it?
Of course: deactivate it in Plugins → Installed Plugins and the box disappears.
