Many WordPress sites were built with Enfold, a theme with its own page builder. It is comfortable while you use it, but it saves each page as a long line of codes: [av_section], [av_one_half], [av_textblock] and so on. Change theme, or leave WordPress, and the page you see is a wall of square brackets.
From Cleitext 0.39 there is a way out: Layout Import, a free plugin that reads those codes and rebuilds each page with the editor’s own blocks.
What comes along
- Full-width colored sections and rows of columns with their widths
- Texts, headings with size, color and alignment, lists, quotes and tables
- Images, found in your media library by file name, with captions and links
- Galleries and slideshows as galleries, videos as embeds
- Buttons, icon boxes, notices, team members and testimonials, with all their words
Two ways to use it
If you still have the WordPress site, export it (Tools → Export → All content) and give the file to the plugin: each page finds its twin on Cleitext by its address, and links to old pages and categories become links of the new site. If you already imported the site and the codes stayed as text, the plugin finds those pages by itself.
Honest about what stays behind
Maps, contact forms and lists of posts have no block of their own: the plugin tells you, page by page, where they were, so you can add them again with the right block in a minute. Every conversion is a new revision, so the old version is always one click away. And if you want the old look in full, the Vitality theme has its own builder that imports these pages with all their details.
