Layout Import — Enfold and Elementor pages as blocks

Free plugin

Your old pages, finally editable

Enfold, one of the most used WordPress themes, saves each page as a long list of codes in square brackets; Elementor keeps the real page in a hidden field. Move the site and you get a wall of codes, or a bare page. Layout Import turns them back into a real page: sections, columns, texts, images and buttons.

No page builder needed: the result is made of the editor’s own blocks.

Layout Import

Leave Enfold behind

From [av_section] to blocks

If your site was made with Enfold and its layout builder, and you see codes like [av_one_half] or [av_textblock], this plugin is for you.

Sections and columns

Full-width colored sections, rows of two, three or four columns with their widths: the shape of the page stays.

Texts and headings

Paragraphs, headings with their size, color and alignment, lists, quotes, tables and code.

Images and galleries

Pictures are found in your media library by their file name, with captions, links and alignment. Galleries and slideshows become galleries.

Buttons and boxes

Buttons with their colors and links, icon boxes, notices, team members and testimonials keep all their words.

Elementor too

Elementor pages in the export, or already imported as Fresco pages, become blocks too: sections, columns, headings, images, buttons, galleries; tabs become headings.

Undo at any time

Each converted page gets a new revision: the old version stays in Revisions, one click away.

Layout import: options and the address of the old site

Tools → Layout import

From shortcodes to blocks

Upload the export of the old site, or let it read the pages already imported: sections, columns, headings, images, galleries, buttons and tabs become blocks you can edit.

Layout Import

Two ways

With the export, or without

Give it the export file of the old WordPress site and every page finds its twin on Cleitext by its address. Already imported your site and the codes stayed as text? It finds those pages by itself.

  • The export is read in your browser, it is not uploaded
  • Links to old pages and categories become links of the new site
  • One page at a time, or all together
  • Published pages stay as they are until you publish them again

Convert, check, publish

Read the list of what could not be kept, convert, open the page and publish it.

Questions

Which sites is it for?

For WordPress sites made with Enfold, whose layout builder saves pages as codes starting with [av_, and for sites made with Elementor. Want to keep editing Elementor pages visually instead? Fresco, our free page builder, imports them as they are.

Will the page look exactly the same?

Its content and shape come along; animations, icons and some special effects do not. If you want the old look in full, the Vitality theme has its own builder that imports these pages with all their details.

Do I need the export file?

It helps: with it, links to old pages and galleries are resolved too. Without it, the plugin converts the pages that still show the codes and finds images by file name.
