A page builder made of blocks: the Canvas theme

Full-width sections, cards and icons from ready-made patterns, all edited with ordinary blocks. How the theme of this site works.

Many people choose a page builder for landing pages and then stay tied to it: the content only makes sense inside that tool. Canvas, the theme of this site, takes another road.

Canvas, a page builder made of blocks

Sections, not shortcodes

A Canvas page is a stack of full-width sections made of ordinary blocks: groups, headings, paragraphs, columns, buttons. Their look comes from a few CSS classes. Change theme and the content is still there, readable and editable.

Ready-made patterns

  • Opening sections with title, text, buttons and an illustration
  • Cards with icons, steps, big numbers and quotes
  • Image and text side by side, FAQ, download boxes
  • Light, readable and mobile friendly

Insert a pattern, change texts and images, done. Or let your AI assistant do it: Canvas has a guide written for assistants, so they use its sections the right way.

Canvas is free, like every theme in the catalog: install it from Appearance → Themes → Add New Theme.

Your brand in the settings

Logo, brand colour, tagline and footer text are in Appearance → Customize, with a live preview. Change the colour once and buttons, links and accents follow. The theme also works with the block styles of the editor: a button can be filled or outlined, a group can be dark or light, an image can float with a shadow. No code to learn, and nothing that breaks when the theme is updated.

Every section of this site, from the home to the download page, is made this way. Open any page of yours in the editor, look at the list of blocks on the left, and you will see the same structure: groups, columns and paragraphs, nothing hidden.

Because the page is made of plain blocks, an AI assistant can build it too, and you can fix what it wrote with the same tools. The theme is open source under the GPL: read the code, change it, or use it as the starting point of your own theme.
