Two new versions of Cleitext are out, and they change two things you use every day: how you set up your theme, and how your pages get found on Google. Sites with automatic updates already have them; the others find them in Updates.
Theme options, in order
Appearance → Customize is now a real control panel: the options are grouped in sections on the left (header, colors, fonts, footer and so on), with a search box, and the ones that do not apply stay out of sight. Colors have a picker, sizes a slider, and choices are buttons you can see.
- Ready-made styles: one click changes colors, fonts and the look of the header together
- Export your options to a file and bring them to another site
- “Reset this section”, and a dot on what you have not published yet
- Options for each page in the editor: a different sidebar, a transparent header, no title bar
Vitality, like the big premium themes
Vitality 1.1 uses all of this: thirteen sections of options, nine ready-made styles (Night makes the whole site dark), the site in a box or in a frame, colors of their own for header, content, footer and bottom bar, a menu that opens from the side or on the whole screen, a reading progress bar, a footer that uncovers like a curtain and much more. Your current choices stay as they are.
Vetta SEO: get found, for free
Vetta SEO is a new free plugin that does everything a website needs to be found. While you write, it gives the page a score out of 100 and a short list of tips; it writes titles and descriptions from simple templates, prepares the cards for Facebook and WhatsApp, puts your business on the map with address and opening hours, and tells search engines about every new page.
Already using the SEO plugin? Switch it off and switch Vetta on: the titles, descriptions and keywords you wrote are read as they are.
