Many WordPress sites run on Astra: light, quick, and with a header you build by dragging pieces into place. Zenit, our new free theme, brings that way of working to Cleitext, and it is built to welcome those sites as they are.
Build your header by dragging
Open Appearance → Customize: the page of your site fills the screen, and under it there is the header in three rows, each split into left, center and right. Drop in the logo, the menus, a button, the search, social icons or the cart, and see the result at once. Phones get their own layout, with a menu that opens from the side or below the bar. The footer works the same way, in up to six columns.
- Nine colors and the fonts of titles and text, chosen once for the whole site
- Ready-made styles to start from, and a pencil on each part of the preview to jump to its options
- Blog in a grid, a list or with covers, with the pieces in the order you like
- Normal, narrow or full width, with or without a sidebar, page by page
Your Astra site, with its look
Zenit understands the settings of Astra. Bring the content with the WordPress importer, then in Customize → ⋯ → Import load the export of the WordPress customizer: colors, fonts, header, footer and blog come along, and the site looks the same. We checked it option by option against the original theme.
Pages made with Spectra come across too, thanks to Prisma, and the shop works with Cleishop: the cart appears in the header by itself.
Zenit Pro, when you need more
Zenit Pro is a plugin that adds options to the same Customize screen: a header that stays at the top while scrolling, a mega menu, a site builder for your own header, footer, 404 page and single or archive layouts, more buttons and widget areas, and blog layouts with masonry and “load more”. It costs €59 a year or €199 for life, for one site.
And nothing breaks
Zenit is free and installs from Appearance → Themes. Like every update of Cleitext, it is tested at every change, and if you turn Zenit Pro off your site simply goes back to the free theme, without losing anything.
