Cleitext 0.79.1: smoother moves from WordPress

A small update that polishes the move from WordPress: Yoast SEO titles arrive as they were, and old addresses no longer block your own redirects. As always, it updates in one click and never breaks your site.

Every site we move from WordPress teaches us something. This update collects what we learned from the latest moves, so the next ones are even smoother.

Yoast SEO titles, exactly as they were

The WordPress Importer now understands Yoast’s title variables, such as the page title, the site name and the separator, and keeps them working. A custom title you wrote in Yoast arrives as the whole title, without the site name added twice, and a title that only repeats the default is left to the site’s own setting.

Your redirects, your way

Old addresses that differ only by a final slash already reach the right page by themselves. The importer no longer saves them as redirects, and if an older import left one behind, your own redirect for that address simply replaces it.

Every picture finds its new home

Pictures written inside texts, headers and footers of the old site now point to the imported files, resized copies included, and anything missing is listed in the report. In Fresco, Replace URL also reaches the imported header and footer.

A cookie banner that stays itself

Some themes restyle every button on the page. The Privacy plugin now keeps its banner buttons and the round button that reopens it exactly as designed, whatever the theme.

One click, nothing breaks

Update from the Updates page of your admin. Like every version, 0.79.1 is tested at every change, and updates never break your site.
