Just write, like you always did
A white page and the buttons of a word processor: bold, lists, links, headings. If blocks are not for you, or for the people who write on your site, this is the editor you remember.
The visual editor is TinyMCE, the same one WordPress uses.

Nothing new to learn
The screen you already know
Who moved from WordPress finds the same buttons in the same places. Who never used it finds something as simple as an email.
Visual and Text
Write and see the result as it will look, or switch to Text to touch the HTML by hand, with the quick tag buttons.
Two rows of buttons
The first row has what you use every day. The “toolbar” button opens the second: colors, special characters, indents, undo.
Add Media
Pick a picture from the library or upload a new one, choose its size and alignment, and it lands where your cursor is.
Back to blocks anytime
What you write is saved as ordinary blocks: switch a page to the block editor and nothing is lost. And back again.
Nothing breaks
Columns, buttons or galleries made with blocks show as a grey box in the page: they stay as they are while you edit the text around them.
In your language
Buttons, menus and the word count speak English or Italian, as you chose in your profile.

The editor
A page, a toolbar, your text
Paragraphs and headings, bold and links, lists and pictures, in one writing area like a word processor. Switch between Visual and Text when you want to see the HTML.

For who writes
Made for long texts
Articles, news, stories: when the words are what matters, a single page is faster than many blocks.
- Word count always in sight
- Full screen to write without distractions
- Paste from Word or Google Docs, also as plain text
- The “Read more” tag, as in WordPress
Get started
Ready in a few minutes
Install it
In Plugins → Add New, find Classic Editor, then click Install and Activate.
Open a page or a post
At the top of the editor, click “Edit with Classic Editor”.
Write
The page remembers its editor: next time it opens straight in Classic Editor.
Questions
Do I lose my pages made with blocks?
No. Text, headings, lists, images and tables become editable; anything else stays untouched in a grey box.
Can some people use blocks and others the classic editor?
Yes. Each page opens with the editor it was last saved with, and anyone can switch it.
Does it work with posts imported from WordPress?
Yes. Imported posts are blocks like any other, so they open in Classic Editor too.
Goes well with
Plugins that work well together
Convert Editors
Move pages and posts between the block editor, Classic Editor, Fresco and Vitality Builder, many at a time: see first what is kept, then convert in place (undo from Revisions) or as a new draft.
WordPress Importer
Moves a WordPress site in from the admin: posts, pages, media, categories, tags, menus and authors, with redirects from the old addresses and a report.
