Working on your site? Say so nicely
Turn on maintenance and your visitors see a clean page with your logo and a short message, while you keep working on the real site behind it.
It works with every theme, also the ones made just for your site.

Simple, and polite
A page that keeps people in the loop
Write a few words, pick a date if you know it, and switch it on.
In every language
A title and a message for each language of your site: visitors read the one they speak.
Back on…
Add the date you will be back: it is shown to visitors and tells search engines when to come again.
A way to reach you
An optional email address, so customers can still write to you.
Your logo and colors
Your site logo on top and the colors you choose, on computers and phones.
Coming soon
Launching a new site? Use it as a “coming soon” page until the big day.
Safe for your search ranking
Search engines are told it is temporary (status 503), so your pages keep their place.

Settings
Write it, see it
Choose maintenance or coming soon, write a title and a message, add the date you will be back and an email address. The preview next to it shows the page as visitors will see it.
- Your colours and your logo
- Search engines are told to come back later

What visitors see
A clear message, not an error
Visitors find a clean page with your name and how to reach you, while you and your team keep seeing the real site.

While you work
You still see the real site
When you are signed in you browse the site as usual, so you can check every change before switching maintenance off.
- One switch in Settings → General
- A preview of the page before you turn it on
- A small “Maintenance” badge in the admin while it is on
