Maps — show where you are

Free plugin

Help people find you

Put a map on your contact page in a minute. Paste a link or write your address: your guests see where you are and get directions with one tap.

No technical setup: no account or key needed to start.

Maps

Simple as pasting a link

One block, any map

Add the Map block to a page or a post and tell it where you are. It does the rest.

Just your address

Write your street and town, or paste coordinates. The map finds the place by itself.

Links you already have

Paste a link from Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, Bing Maps or Apple Maps, short links and shared maps included.

Directions for your guests

Under the map, a Directions link and “Open in” links let visitors continue in the map app they use.

The look you want

Choose the view (map, satellite, cycling, public transport), the zoom, the height and a caption.

Many places on one map

A walking tour or all your shops? Show a map with many markers made with Google My Maps or uMap.

A map of Camogli under the contact form, with directions links

On your site

Where you are, at a glance

Write an address and the map is there, with links to get directions or open the place in Google Maps, Apple Maps or OpenStreetMap.

Maps settings: service, consent, height and zoom

Settings

Choose once, use everywhere

The map service, the consent category, height and zoom are set in Settings; each map can change them.

Maps

Privacy

Maps that respect your visitors

OpenStreetMap maps set no cookies and show at once. Google and Bing maps may set cookies: with the Privacy & GDPR plugin they wait until the visitor says yes.

  • OpenStreetMap: no cookies, nothing to accept
  • Google and Bing wait for consent, with a short notice meanwhile
  • Your cookie banner and policies are updated for you

Get started

Ready in a few minutes

Install it

In Plugins → Add New, find Maps, then click Install and Activate.

Choose your defaults

In Settings → Maps, pick the map service you prefer, the usual height and zoom. You can skip this: the defaults work.

Add your map

Open your contact page, add the Map block and write your address or paste a link in Place. Save, and you are on the map.

Questions

Do I need a Google account or a key?

No. Maps work with a simple link or an address. A Google Maps key is only needed for Street View and routes.

What about the cookie law?

OpenStreetMap maps set no cookies. Google and Bing maps can: install the free Privacy & GDPR plugin and they wait for your visitors’ consent.

Can my visitors get directions?

Yes. Under the map they find a Directions link and links to open the place in Google Maps, Apple Maps or OpenStreetMap.

Can I show more than one place?

Yes: add one map for each place, or paste a map with many markers made with Google My Maps or uMap.
