SEO — get found on Google

Free plugin

SEO, found on Google without the fuss

Your pages show up better on Google, with the title and description you choose. While you write, a simple traffic light tells you what to improve.

Free and open source, already included in Cleitext.

SEO

What it does for you

Everything Google needs, in plain sight

You write your pages as usual. The plugin takes care of what search engines look for.

A traffic light while you write

Tell it the words people search for. It checks that they are in the right places and that the text is easy to read.

A map of your site

Google gets an always up-to-date list of your pages and pictures, so new ones are found sooner.

Old links keep working

Rename a page or move it: visitors and Google following the old address land on the new one.

Nice when shared

Pick the picture shown when a page is shared on social networks and in chats. Otherwise its main image is used.

Breadcrumbs

A small trail like Home › Rooms › Double room helps visitors find their way, and Google can show it in place of the address.

The SEO analysis next to the page in the editor, with the Google preview

In the editor

A traffic light while you write

Next to the page: how it looks on Google, and a short list of what to improve for search and for readers, in plain words.

SEO settings: XML sitemap, search appearance and title templates

Settings

Ready for Search Console

The XML sitemap address to give Google and Bing, what appears in search results and the templates of the titles, in one page.

SEO

Behind the scenes

Google understands who you are

Every page also carries, hidden from visitors, a short description that search engines read: the name of your business, your logo, your social profiles, the author of each post.

  • A business or a person: you choose who the site represents
  • Hide a page from search engines with one tick
  • Large image previews allowed in the results
  • Coming from WordPress? Your old sitemap address still works

Get started

Ready in a few minutes

Turn it on

It comes with Cleitext: in Plugins → Installed Plugins, activate SEO.

Tell Google about your site

Open the SEO page in the admin: it shows your sitemap address and the few steps to add it in Google Search Console.

Polish your pages

In the editor, open SEO analysis in the sidebar: write the search title and description, and follow the traffic lights.

Questions

Do I need to install anything?

No: SEO comes with Cleitext. You only need to make sure it is active.

Will it put me first on Google?

Nobody can promise that. It makes sure Google finds and understands your pages, and helps you write them well: the rest depends on your content.

What if I don’t fill in the fields?

Nothing breaks: the page title and the site name are used, following the templates in the SEO page. The fields are there when you want more control.

I am moving from WordPress. Do I lose my position?

The usual sitemap addresses of WordPress and Yoast lead to the new one, and when you change a page address the old one is redirected for you.
