Cleitext 0.83: a language switcher for every theme, and smoother moves from WordPress

The Multilingual plugin now has its own language switcher, for any theme: in a menu, as a block or at the bottom of the page. Sites with WPML or Polylang move over with their languages, menus and Contact Form 7 forms.

A site in several languages needs one small but important thing: a clear way for visitors to change language. Until now each theme drew its own. From version 0.83 it belongs to the language plugin, as in WordPress with WPML.

One language switcher, everywhere

Multilingual 1.6 adds a language switcher that works with every theme. Put it in a menu with one click, as a block in any page, in Fresco and Prisma, or at the bottom of every page. Choose a dropdown or a list, native names or short codes, with or without flags. When a page has no translation, it leads to the home page of that language.

Moving from WPML, Polylang and Contact Form 7

The WordPress Importer now recognises WPML and Polylang by itself: each page lands in its language, translations stay linked, and the menus of the other languages are rebuilt. Contact Form 7 forms become Forms contact forms with their fields, subject and messages, and leftovers of old cookie banners are cleaned away. Big sites import in the background, with a progress bar.

And more

  • Agenda: each service has its own booking form, with fields required, optional or hidden
  • Antispam: contact forms send at the first click
  • WordPress spacing sizes are kept, so imported pages keep their room

One click, nothing breaks

Update from the Updates page of your admin. Like every version, 0.83 is tested at every change, and updates never break your site.
